Rick Davies, RIP

Rick Davies of Supertramp passed last Saturday after a lengthy battle with cancer. Davies, with Roger Hodgson, founded the band in 1969. I first encountered the band in 1975, like most other teens of my age; Crime Of The Century was a staple in everyone's collection. From there, it was a joy to watch the grow with each successive album, culminating in the world-wide success of Breakfast In America. The pair famously fell out in the 80s, a fight only to be eclipsed by the non-payment of royalties to the other members of the band, none of this should diminish the musical legacy of the band. My condolences to his family.
